Experiencing the fascial system
Ever wondered what holds your body together? Why we don’t just spill out into the world? The complex and beautiful fascial system not only wraps around our muscles and our organs, it also runs under our skin. It is the true barrier between us and the world.
Discover the magic of this system. Become aware of how every position, and every movement involves the fascia. Learn how to care for these connective tissue layers in order to keep them healthy and malleable. You will be taught techniques to release your fascial system and reduce physical pain in key locations such as the lower back, the pelvis and the neck.
In this workshop you will sense the fascia in your own body through movement and visualisation exercises with the use of fun props, in the studio or at home! Each exercises lead us into solo movement explorations.
Every daily movement can become an experience of full-body integration through awareness and activation of this support system.
In this workshop I draw from recent research into the fascia made by Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, Eric Franklin and Tom Myers.
