Franklin ball workshop: the foot
There are 26 bones, 30 joints and more than 100 muscles, tendons and ligaments in each foot. They all work together to provide support, balance and mobility. In this workshop we will learn about the anatomy of the foot, and how the 3 arches in the foot define the way you walk.
Using the franklin balls you learn how to release the plantar fascia at the base of the foot. This action rebalances the foot arches, squeezing out tensions in the muscles and creating space between the joints. The whole experience should leave your feet feeling ready to be walked on. You should expect to find more support, balance and mobility from your lower limbs.
This workshop is appropriate for people who:
- already own a set of Franklin balls and want to learn new techniques for how to use them.
- people who have not yet discovered these balls but would like to learn to release the foot.
Working with the feet can help with many physical complaints. Here are a few:
- menopause (in ostheopathy the plantar fascia is worked to reduce menopausal symptoms).
- lower back pain
- sleep troubles
- tight psoas
- flat foot
- calf and leg pain
