"We are the culmination of everything that has happened to us: physically, emotionally and spiritually."
Somatic Therapy is directed towards physical complaints. The body gets tired from overuse, repetative movements and bad posture. Chronic or lingering pain is hard to resolve without some help.
Somatic Therapy uses a blend of massage therapy techniques to release muscular, nervous and energetic tension. Every session in tailor made to your body's need. Techniques which I used come from: Myofascial therapy, Trigger Point, Thai Massage, Organ Massage, Rolfing, Balanced Ligament Tension Technique, Craniosacral Therapy, Ostheopathy. As an after affect the fluid systems are also effected redcuing congestion and enabaling a better flow of blood, lymph and cerebro-spinal fluid.
In my 18 years as a movement educator and massage therapist I have learnt that the most effective way to treat chronic pain is through a combination of hands on body work and target excersises. Together, these two ways of treating the body helps to sustain the results achieved on the massage table.
This type of work is especially benefitial for all pain involving the major joints and spine. This includes neck-shoulder compaints, mid and lower back pain, pelvic pain, Sacroiliac problems, sciatica, arthritis, migraines, fatigue, digestive problems, menstrual concerns.
Some benefits:
- Encourages the resolution of postural imbalances and muscular overcompensations through realignment work.
- Reduces fibrosis in the connective tissue.
- Increases muscle responsiveness.
- Creates mobility in the joints (increasing synovial fluid and alleviating symptoms of arthritis and osteoporosis).
- Post surgery rehabillitation.
- Improves blood and lymph circulation.
- Reduces congestion in the body systems.
- Encourages mindfullness in daily life.
- Empowers you in your personal healing process through knowledge about your body, awareness techniques and self-care routines.
What should I expect?
Somatic Therapy includes hands on work and movement for self care. Each treatment is tailor made to your needs and is attentive to your specific processes.
During the first session we will discuss your concerns and together draw up a treatment plan. Each treatment package consists of a minimum of 5 sessions. Once the initial treatment is over, you discuss your process with the therapist and together decide how to proceed.
You can expect:
- to be listened to with attentiveness and genuine care
- to be in continual, open dialogue with the therapist about your process during the entire treatment period
- to 'check in' with the therapist each session about how you are feeling physically.
- to receive feedback.
- to receive tips on what to do between sessions to help the process.
You also receive complimentary support in the following:
1. awareness exercises to notice postural patterns and learn to find correct alignement.
2. movement excercises to help you find the correct balance of the muscle groups.
Movement for self-care
This begins with awareness excercises to help you learn to read the signs your body is giving you. You learn to differentiate physical sensations, recognise pain-inducing postural habits and become aware of tension. Together we create a movement plan which you can follow in your own timing at home. This helps sustain the wellbeing you experience during the treatment sessions. These sessions are a step towards independence from the body work. We work with cues and imagery, triggering the nervous system to remember sensations you experienced during the treatment. This take the form of gentle movement, stretching and strengthening work.
Practical information:
€ 97 for per session (aroumd 50 minutes)
Cancelations policy: No charge for cancelations made 24 hours in advance. Otherwise, you are charged for the session.
Feel free to contact us for a no-obligation introductory meeting.

It is crutial that you feel comfortable in your treatment plan and with your therapist. I encourage open dialogue throughout the process.
